Student Leadership

At HMS, we are dedicated to fostering student leadership through diverse opportunities. Students are invited to apply for membership in three esteemed clubs: Student Council, W.E.B, and Younite. Each club offers a unique platform for students to refine their leadership abilities. Below, you'll find detailed descriptions of the roles and responsibilities associated with each leadership position.

Club Descriptions

  • Student Council (STUCO) is responsible for developing a positive school environment for all students! We plan assemblies, spirit weeks, and appreciation weeks for students and staff. Have an idea on how to make HMS a better place? Join us and let's make it happen!
  • WEB, which stands for “Where Everybody Belongs” is a middle school orientation and transition program that welcomes 6th graders and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their middle school experience. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, the program trains 8th-grade students to be WEB Leaders.  We will be in the same Advisory class together throughout the school year. We WILL meet before or after school, in addition to a summer meeting day.
  • YOUnite Council - YOUnite Council's mission is to make Heritage Middle School a safe and welcome place for all students. We celebrate all students by spreading awareness, participating in educational activities and ensuring that all students have a voice and feel like they belong.
